Yet, precaution is better and you must keep your fingers down before pulling the trigger of the crossbow. 2- Be Careful You must always be careful while using crossbows. They should not be taken lightly. They are weapons and are capable of killing a human being as well. Therefore, keep them pointed in a safe direction and never towards a fellow human being. Check if all of them are intact and in place and if they are tight or not. This will prevent accidental injuries and will keep you safe and will also keep people around you safe as well. Whenever you shoot from the crossbow and the arrow goes off into the air, vibrations are produced all along the strings of the crossbows and the whole crossbow vibrates. This can make the screws loose and can disassemble the parts of a crossbow. Therefore, one must make sure that all screws are intact and tight before using a crossbow. 4- Use a Lube Crossbows need to be maintained and taken care of like other tools and weapons. This is why it is quite necessary to use lube in order to keep the crossbow properly functional. The lube can be applied to the barrel of the bow, on its strings, and on other important parts of the crossbow as well. This will keep your crossbow long lasting and will also keep it fully functional. 5- Read the Instruction Manual Carefully Reading the instruction manual carefully and following its instructions is of utmost importance. Not all crossbows are the same and some models and designs may differ from one another and so can their instruction manuals. Therefore, make sure to go through these manuals when you buy a crossbow. It will also answer a major portion of your questions related to its usage and maintenance. 6- Avoid Using Damaged Arrows Damaged arrows must not be used, therefore, always check your arrows before using them. Damaged arrows can flip back and hurt the user so ensure your safety yourself by keeping a check on your arrows as well. 7- Ensuring Safety Keep your crossbows uncocked and pointing in a safe direction to avoid accidental injuries. Never walk around with a cocked crossbow as it can prove to be harmful to you and those around you as well.
